Hilary Roxe founded Ellipsis Advisory LLC, a Baltimore-based strategic communications consultancy, in 2018 after more than 20 years of professional communications and leadership experience across industries. Ellipsis supports mission-driven organizations as they frame, articulate, and elevate good ideas.

First trained as a reporter at Time Magazine’s Asia edition, Hilary’s journalism career included working at family-owned newspapers in Massachusetts, and for the Associated Press in major metropolitan bureaus. After moving to Baltimore, she shifted to international humanitarian work, managing communications related to Catholic Relief Services’ Africa-based programs – the agency’s largest regional portfolio – before working beside the then-head of CRS’ overseas operations. She later served as a speechwriter to the president of Johns Hopkins University and then as his deputy chief of staff, positions that allowed her to help articulate his vision for the institution and shepherd key initiatives as they took shape.

Hilary earned an undergraduate degree from Princeton University and a Master’s in Public Policy from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. She lives in Baltimore with her husband and three above-average children.
